Ethernalis: Press-Kit

Description

Ethernalis is a turn based card game with rogue-like, procedurally generated maps and RPG event system that aims to provide a fresh and innovative take on the Multi User Dungeon genre. The game is set in a mystical dark fantasy world described to the players through an original mixture of card and board game elements. Cards, maps and storyline splash screens (styled similarly to 80s role playing action books) provide players with descriptions of events and multiple choice reaction options that significantly affect the gameplay.

Ethernalis aims to fall into a classic (even retro possibly) RPG system category. Players adopt a role of a fantasy character, control their hero's actions, manage their equipment, skill/spells, inventory and strive to survive in harsh and unforgiving environment advancing their Hero's skills and attributes as they progress.

Game is full of descriptions and imagery that is meant to sustain an atmosphere of fantasy fear, further decorated with fantasy violence (blood splashes on the cards). Unique atmosphere of the game is supported by mystical music that reacts and changes between threats and exploration opportunities presented to the player.
