Having a warm and safe hideout in a dangerous territory can mean all the difference between survival and failure. The location is only considered "Safe" if all of the cards in the location are populated and none of them are of type "Enemy".
Your place in the world
Dungeons in Ethernalis are "persistent" - you can always go back to a previously visited location - if you particularly like the dungeon layout you can turn it into a base. Locations can be upgraded, workshops built, farms created to grant survival for thousands of turns to come.
