Vaelor and Caldris. Herbs return to the fields, and a few mushrooms appear in the forests.
A day lasts 24 turns. Five days make a week, six weeks make a moon of 30 days, and ten moons make a year. Night runs from turn 18 to turn 5. Sleeping, working at a bench and travelling across the region all move the calendar forward.
Each moon belongs to one season. Eteis is the height of summer and Kyr the depth of winter. The log announces each change of season.
Vaelor and Caldris. Herbs return to the fields, and a few mushrooms appear in the forests.
Ilyon, Eteis and Sorynth. The warmest moons. Herbs and insects are at their most plentiful.
Vaelsh and Nereth. Mushrooms flush in the forests and caves. Herbs are still found, though less often.
Morvane, Kyr and Thren. The surface is coldest and most foraging stops. Fish bite less, and more wolves roam the forests.
Every moon of the calendar is one full cycle of the moon. Anything tied to a phase of the moon happens only at night, while that phase lasts. Under open sky, the log tells you when the phase changes and when the full moon rises.
At the Forest Shrine and the Glade of Standing Stones, Forage by Moonlight can be used only on full moon nights. It turns up Wolfsbane and Ancient Roots.
On full moon nights the Walking Dead rise in larger crypts. Those that rise remain after the full moon has passed.
A seasonal action is offered only in its seasons, and its action tile shows when it is in season. In its best season the chance of a find is higher, often doubled or tripled, and the room's supply returns faster. Out of season a stripped room does not recover until the season comes back. If nothing an action can turn up is in season, the attempt is refused and costs nothing.
Searching for herbs and for bugs on the surface stops in winter and is best in summer. Forage Mushrooms in forest clearings, misty hollows, dark treelines and hollow trees is offered in spring and autumn, with three times the chance in autumn.
Fishing above ground has half its usual chance in winter. Underground waters are not affected.
Forest herbs stop growing in winter, and the herbs already there die back one by one until spring. Grazing animals go hungry in winter as a result. Large forests grow extra Wild Mushrooms each autumn, and caves grow more mushrooms in autumn.
Forests can hold twice as many wolves in winter.
On the surface, winter pulls your temperature down and summer pushes it up. Spring and autumn are slightly cool. The weather also leans colder in winter and warmer in summer. Underground rooms are sheltered from the season.
Some cards appear only in certain seasons or on certain moonlit nights, whether you find them lying in a room, foraging for them or waiting on something that produces them. Their information screen lists when they are found and whether they are in season now. In a card's best season, foraging turns it up twice as often.
Hover over the temperature bar to see the current season and phase of the moon, for example "Autumn, full moon".
The sleep screen and the space bar peek show the date, the season and the phase of the moon. The title card shown on entering a dungeon also gives the date.
